In-game description[]
Four years after the introduction of the first-generation Legacy, an all-new version appeared in October 1993. Because the wagon was such a hot commodity with the first-gen Legacy, Subaru concentrated its efforts on the touring wagon with the sedan playing a supporting role.
The wagon trim of choice was, without a doubt, the GT. It came powered by a 2.0-liter flat-4 that featured two-stage twin turbochargers (the previous version had a single turbo). The result was more power and torque than before, with the new wagon pumping out 247 BHP and 227.8 lb-ft of torque. The species improved again in June 1996 with the arrival of the GT-B. This wagon became the first model of the Legacy's history to reach the 280PS plateau, making it not only the most potent Legacy ever, but one of the baddest station wagons in the world.
To accommodate this massive power, Subaru needed to solidify the chassis. It started with Bilstein dampers to the suspension system (the "B" in GT-B stands for "Bilstein"), and when combined with a solidified body structure, the GT-B possessed the handling and ride of the day's most compelling sports sedans. Hidden in the overwhelming shadow of the GT-B, Subaru produced a sedan version called the RS. This car was to become the foundation for the third generation Legacy B4.
