In-game description[]

The stylish Alto-based kei car released in January 2002 was the Alto Lapin. "Lapin" means "rabbit" in French, and the emblem contains a rabbit-shape design.

The Lapin's most prominent distinction is its retro-modern styling. "Comfort, Warmth, Relaxation" were the key words behind its rounded, box-shaped 5-door form which was styled with female drivers as its target market. The interior is simple yet modern, with a big speedometer sitting square in front of the driver's seat.

Of course looks weren't the only selling points. It had a roomy interior, and its 59.6 inches of height allowed it to be parked in an lift-type parking garage. It was a very practical car.

The engine was the pride of the Alto: the all-aluminium 658 cc DOHC inline-3, available in both normally-aspirated and turbo models. The engine was made more environmentally friendly, and it produces 59 BHP with the intercooled turbo. The gearbox is a 4-speed AT that can be walked through the gears, and the drivetrain was offered in both FF or 4WD. The suspension from the standard Alto is utilised, providing a comfortable ride.

The interior was also full of thoughtful extra touches. The reclining rear seat has 7 settings to provide for 8 reclining positions. Of course, there were also electric windows, central locking, UV protection glass and tinted windows, 13-inch alloy wheels, and a stereo system including an CD player as standard equipment. In 2003, a 63 BHP engine and low-down suspension were added to the sport-spec Lapin SS.
