- "This is an individualistic concept car race that gave birth to the Suzuki sports spirit."
- ―In-game description
Suzuki Concepts is a Suzuki one-make race event in Gran Turismo 4. It is a three-race event for which only Suzuki's concept cars are allowed.
Strategy[]
This race can be quite difficult as the player's only car choice for a first time completion is the CONCEPT-S2, while the opposition will feature a number of GSX-R/4's, which have far superior power-to-weight ratio. There are a few ways to combat this disadvantage:
- Set ASM Understeer and Oversteer to 0, and lower TCS to 1 or 0 in the Driving Aids section in the car settings. Setting TCS to 0 will ensure the car's acceleration isn't reduced around corners, but makes you responsible for managing the car's wheelspin when exiting corners.
- Don't buy any power upgrades. If you do, the S2 will be much more likely to enter a state of wheelspin when exiting corners. This is especially important for race 3 at Tsukuba, where good corner exit speed is crucial for beating the GSX-R/4's. An oil change and a racing flywheel should be enough.
- Buy NOS, and set the NOS power to around 40 in the car settings. NOS is incredibly useful for faster acceleration out of corners, but you need to be careful to not use it too early or it will create wheelspin. Wait until the car is straight and its weight is centered before using NOS, and don't use it if you can hear the wheels spinning.
- Put a heavy ballast (80-100kg) at the front of the car (-50 balance). While it may seem counter-intuitive to make the car heavier, doing this greatly reduces the chance of wheelspin when exiting corners, as the front wheels are pressed into the road and have more traction.
- Prioritize handling upgrades:
- Buy a rear wing from GT Auto, and set downforce to 30 / 30 in the car settings. This will greatly improve the S2's grip around corners. The rear downforce can be lowered to make the car easier to turn.
- Buy the sports suspension, lower the ride height on both sides, soften the dampers to 2 / 2 and increase the camber to 1.8 on both front and rear. The car will grip much better than before.
- Buying a 1-way or custom LSD will also help prevent wheelspin while the car is turning, at the cost of corner exit understeer.
- Racing tyres are allowed in this event, and equipping them will greatly improve grip and reduce wheelspin.
- Exit and re-enter the race until there's no GSX-R/4's in first or second position.
- If driving in manual, staying in 3rd gear around slow corners will make the car much easier to drive. The S2's 2nd gear is too fast at full throttle and will create wheelspin, while 3rd gear is safer to use.
With these tips, you should be able to take the lead halfway through the race and win comfortably. To practice, enter a free run at Tsukuba and take some time to learn how the car drives. Try to create as little wheelspin as possible while competing against your fastest lap time.

Trivia[]
- Because the CONCEPT-S2 is the only car available when the player attempts to complete the event for the first time, this event cannot be done without first completing Suzuki K Cup.
