Description[]

Released in 1984, the Suzuki GSX-R 400 was built with then state-of-the-art motorcycle technology borrowed from the GS 1000R endurance racer. The 400 also shared many features with the RG250 Gamma released the previous year, such as a lightweight, stiff aluminum frame called the Multi-Rib Aluminium Box frame, a fork equipped with an anti-dive device, and a full floating rear suspension kit that could be tuned soft for comfort in everyday riding or hard for sport riding. The liquid-cooled 4-valve engine, with dual overhead cams and built around Suzuki's just-developed "twin swirl" combustion chamber for greater combustion efficiency, generated 59 hp at 11,000 r.p.m. The front brakes boasted not one but two 4-pot calipers.

This tricked-out GSX-R 400 features a racing motif reminiscent of the bikes that tore up the track at the street and sport production bike races that were popular in the '80s.

The engine is stock, but the bike has a 4-in-1 racing exhaust, racing-spec carburettors, close-ratio transmission, upgraded inner parts in the fork, and a racing-spec rear suspension kit, all of which bring out more of the bike's potential. There is also a 290mm disc rotor in front for greater braking power.
