Description[]

Released by Suzuki in 1983, the RG250 Gamma was chock full of race-worthy features that represented the state of the art in those days, such as an aluminium frame—the first on a production bike—and a 16-inch front rim, then standard for Grand Prix bikes. The Gamma further fanned the flames of 250cc, 2-stroke bike popularity first ignited by the Yamaha RZ250. It was also the first made-for-Japan machine equipped with the type of racing-style fairing that European bike builders were already using. Its Spartan good looks made the Gamma stand out in a crowd.

This racing-modified RG250 Gamma has a stock fork with an anti-dive mechanism, which prevents the fork from compressing too much during braking. It also retains the stock full floating rear suspension, which can be set soft for everyday riding or hard for sport riding.

The re-machined intake and exhaust ports and polished cylinder heads boost low to midrange power while preserving the engine's sharp acceleration throughout its entire range. These modifications bring out the bike's full potential—for the performance to put some production racers to shame.

Acquistion[]

  • This bike can be acquired by winning Race 3 of the Clubman Cup.
