Description[]

The RG500 Gamma was released in 1984 as a replica of the GP Gamma RG500, the Suzuki bike that ruled the World Grand Prix circuit from the mid-1970s to the early 80s. Not to be outdone, Honda and Yamaha also announced their own two-stroke 400cc and 500cc machines—which, while called replicas, had very different engine configurations and chassis and suspension specs than the actual Grand Prix bikes. But the RG500 Gamma shared a lot more in common with its racing counterpart, including not only the square-four, twin-crankshaft engine shape and other engine specs, but even the Suzuki Automatic Exhaust Control system and the cassette-type transmission.

This racing-spec machine, based on the RG500 Gamma, is customised with oversized pistons, polished cylinder heads for a higher compression ratio, and re-machined ports. What's more, the large-diameter carburettors and lightweight expansion chambers and mufflers are all racing-spec.

To better handle the engine's extra power, the inner parts of the standard fork have been upgraded, and the standard rear shock kit has been replaced with a high-performance, height-adjustable unit.

Lighter parts, including a racing fairing, reduce the bike's weight significantly. The end result is a performance reminiscent of the mighty GP machines of yesteryear.

Acquistion[]

  • This bike can be acquired by selecting it in Challenge Mode, and completing the event: 1-lap Pass - Autumn Ring. This is only possible in the North American and European versions of the game.
