In-game description[]

"This is the Swift Sport, an iconic Japanese FF hot hatch... With lots of admirers in the rally scene, thanks to its performances at the Junior World Rally Championship. Wondering what's under the bonnet? Why, it's a 1.6L naturally aspirated engine! Featuring variable valve timing technology, forged pistons... And a close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission, this sporty number is the definition of circuit-ready!"
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
"Those on the hunt for a modest FF hot hatch would do well to consider the Swift Sport. Its 1.6L naturally-aspirated engine transitions well to high speeds, and its handling is second to none. This model marked a real evolution in the Swift's chassis construction, in particular its much improved rigidity. It is also famous for winning the Junior World Rally Cup in 2007."

"The improved Swift Sport with close-ratio gears and a high-revving engine."

The Suzuki Swift Sport[1] is[2] a model that is based on the second generation Swift, their model aimed for the global market. The European model is a 3-door body, but in Japan it is also offered in a 5-door body.

Its development was done mainly in Europe, and was based on the production model rather than a prototype. Though this delayed the release timing to be later than the model change, this European development was imperative to perfect the level of tuning of the car. For the same reason, it was subjected to numerous tests, under a large variety of road conditions.

One merit for developing in Europe was that they gained partnership and support of Teneco. Their knowhow gained from the Monroe brand helped to perfect the driving performance of the Swift Sport[1].

The engine is a 1.6-litre normally-aspirated engine, combined with forged pistons and VVT, and tuned for driving in the high rpm range.

In a minor change in 2007, the maximum power did not change, but the rev limit was increased from 7,000rpm to 7,500rpm. And by introducing close-ratio gears for the 5-speed MT, its power can now be efficiently applied and appreciated. It is also equipped with ESP, a feature which is becoming more common amongst European cars, and the overall performance of the car has been improved. The interior also used to have many red accents, but this has been reduced for a more mature, chic atmosphere. This model has major significance as the last Japanese hot hatch.

A second-generation Swift Sport! Thanks to its high base specs, this car can compete without much modification. In fact, it was even entered as a junior rally car at the World Rally Championship! Having taken the title twice, Suzuki has proved... The great potential of this machine. Manufacturing credit goes to Monster Sport, a Japanese company headed by Nobuhiro Tajima. Speaking of Tajima-san... His impressive career includes six consecutive wins at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Monster Sport has also built legendary hill climbers based on the Suzuki Cultus and Escudo.

A company that's known to pivot hard, Suzuki sometimes puts out products that really take you by surprise. The Wagon R was one such kei car, and so was this Swift Sport. The four corners of its chunky body are fit with relatively large wheels that speak to its excellent maneuverability. A small car, it's equipped with everything it needs and nothing else. If you were to see it driving down a narrow Italian street, you'd think it fits right in.
