In-game description[]
- "This is a Gran Turismo original Gr.4 racing car that uses the fourth generation Suzuki Swift Sport as its base. Needless to say, Suzuki are famous for producing motorcycles as well as cars. The exterior appearance of the Swift Sport KATANA Edition Gr.4 was inspired by the company's classic 'Katana' bike. Its prototype was the Swift Sport KATANA Edition, which debuted at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2020. It's key features are the logo it shares with the two-wheel Katana, and its bold and imposing wide fender."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
Since its release in 2018, the ZC33S Swift Sport has been lauded by automobile enthusiasts as a compact and fun to drive hot hatch, citing its lightweight high-rigidity body, responsive high-torque 1.4L turbo engine and European tuned handling.
Unveiled at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, the 'KATANA Edition' concept is a suggestion for the future evolution of the model, expressing the power and the beauty of the high performance Katana motorcycle through the Swift Sport. The idea was something only possible from the sporting minds of Suzuki, one of[1] only a few manufacturers in the world to produce both motorcycles and cars.
The design uses the Suzuki Swift as a base adding bespoke front and rear bumpers featuring design elements from the Katana. The exaggerated fender flares widen the car further, accentuating the Swift Sport's glamorous silhouette. The interior uses burnt titanium panels stimulating a hot exhaust as well as other elements to provide the look and feel of a sport bike. Additionally, both the interior and exterior feature red accents and Katana logos throughout.
In addition to the 2-tone Katana silver and matte black design as seen at the Tokyo Auto Salon, 5 other color variations have been added. The 'Candy Daring Red' variant features the same body color as the limited edition Katana bike which was sold in a limited run of 100 units in January 2021.
This special version featured in Gran Turismo has been slightly modified in design and specifications to compete in the Gr.4 category. The front under spoiler has been enlarged and a unique GT wing design to reflect the shape of the Katana's seat cowling has been added. Along with different sized tires, interior weight reduction, a roll cage and tuned up engine. the car has evolved into a Gran Turismo Gr.4 spec race machine.

Notes[]
- ↑ Erroneously omitted 'of' from in-game text
- ↑ The first Manufacturers Cup season featuring the car became available after Update 1.18. Because of a rule prohibiting players with active manufacturer contracts from switching manufacturers between Season 1 and Season 2, only players who did not compete in 2022 Season 1 could obtain the car that way that year.
