In-game Description[]
- "The TVR Tuscan Speed Six is a racing car that exudes the thrill of the track. It features a 'Speed Six' 4L straight-six engine developed by TVR themselves. With its mighty roar and exceptional torque, it's no wonder the engine features in the name of the car! Despite boasting a maximum power of 355 BHP, it weighs in at a mere 1,100 kg."
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Used Car Dealership
The TVR, taking on a part of Trevor Wilkinson's name as a part of the company name, started business as one of many specialist car manufacturers in the UK. Their first production car, the Grantura, debuted in 1958. Even back then, an FRP body with a characteristic styling was combined with production car components, from cars like VW and Austin Healey, to produce high driving performance in the TVR style.
The Tuscan, sold in 2000, was a revival of a sportscar bloodline of the same name, a model that wreaked havoc on circuits in the 1960s.
The 2-door, 2-seater coupé with unique styling utilises many curved surfaces, and bears little resemblance to the 1st generation model. It is still one of the most aggressive styles in the world.
Because of this seductive styling, the body size seems fairly large, but in reality it is fairly compact at 4,235 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, and 1,200 mm wide. The wheelbase is also short, at 2,361 mm.
The engine is a 4 L DOHC 6-cylinder engine, developed in-house. The name 'Speed 6' comes from this 6-cylinder engine. It boasts a dry-sump lubrication system with an oil cooler, and an inline-6 throttle body to control intake air, built to a level on par with racing engines.
Power output is 359 BHP, with a maximum torque of 42.86 kgfm, and accelerates the lightweight 1,100 kg body violently forward.
It is far from being a modern car in many respects, but it is a car in which you can enjoy the very fundamental joys of driving a raw, unadulterated sportscar.
Café Conversations (GT7)[]
Kagurazaka[]
Now this is what I call a British sports car! A radical quality is expressed throughout, both inside and out. No, this car is anything but diplomatic. In fact, it seems to have no desire to play to the crowd whatsoever. At the same time, it exemplifies the pure and naïve love we feel for a sports car. On its sleek body, which sits low for a front-engine car, there are cold round details that totally lack emotion. The bonnet, sculpted everywhere except the engine, and the corresponding trunk lid... Work to express a powerful driving force. In this respect, the styling goes beyond what many would accept, meaning you really have to love it. It's a design that is sure to divide, captivating only those who understand it.

Wash in progress... This section has the following things needed to be documented: For the first Trivia; this behaviour needs to be checked in future games. Currently only verified in GT3. You can help by editing the page. Be sure to remove the template when the to-do is finished. |
- In Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, the Speed Six's tyre dimensions are coded incorrectly; the 255/50R16 rear tyres are mounted on the front and the 225/55R16 front tyres are mounted on the rear. This leads to unbalanced tyre wear and power delivery despite the 50/50 weight distribution.
- Although this is the cover car for the Premium Sports Lounge event flyer in Gran Turismo 4, it is ineligible for this event.
- This car, and the Porsche 911 GT3 (997) '09 are the only two cars that had liveries exclusive to a chili pepper event (specifically Clubman Cup Plus) to be used in the regular races in World Circuits. In the case of Tuscan Speed 6, J. Head's livery was reused in the European FR Challenge 550 events from race 5, driven by A. Smith since v1.56.
