The TVR Tuscan Speed 6 Touring Car '00 is a race modified variant of the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 '00. It appears in Gran Turismo 5 as the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00, and Gran Turismo 6.

Description[]

"An original model modifying a unique coupé to a circuit specification."

This is an original tuned model created by "Gran Turismo", based on the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 (2000).

The following is the description of the base model.

TVR, a name derived from the first name of founder Trevor Wilkinson, is noted for making high-performance specialty cars, British coachworks style.

The company's first production car, the Grantura, made its debut in 1958, and features the skillful combination of components from existing production cars such as Volkswagens and Austin Healeys, wrapped in a sporty, head-turning body style.

Another model was the Tuscan that, despite its racing struggles in the 1960s, was resurrected in 2000, armed with a bevy of new features. The 2-seat 2-door car didn't look at all like its predecessor and had a detachable roof, making it look as good a convertible as it did a coupe.

Its eye-catching exterior, highlighted by a wild face, makes the car look big but in fact, the car possessed modest dimensions. It had overall length, width, and height at 166.7 inches, 71.2 inches, and 47.2 inches, respectively. The wheelbase stretches to 92.9 inches. The Speed 6 got its name from the number of cylinders in the engine.

Two inline-6s are available; one a 3.6-liter, the other a 4.0-liter model. The latter featured the day's racing technologies, including dry sump lubrication. Output was rated at 360 BHP and 310.0 lb-ft of torque, and when this power was coupled with the car's lean 1100 kg body, the Speed 6's acceleration was impressive to say the least. It sprinted to 62 mph in less than 4.0 seconds, making it one of the quickest cars of its day.

The thumbnail for the unused Tuscan Speed 6 Tuned Car

  • A thumbnail for an unused TVR Tuscan Speed 6 Tuned Car can be found inside the game files of Gran Turismo 5. Said tuned car, which is almost identical to this car except for the absence of the driver number, was possibly used during the early stages of development, before being reworked into a racing modification in the final game.
