"Realize the dream of maximum speed; the old Sarthe circuit has a straight of 6 km in length to push your car to the max."
―In-game description

The Sarthe Circuit 24 Hours II (NTSC-J version) or Circuit de la Sarthe 24h II (international versions) is an endurance event in Gran Turismo 4 that is designed to be replicated in the style of the 2004 24 Hours of Le Mans event but without the chicanes at the Mulsanne Straight. An International A license is required to compete in this event when using A-Spec. However, the player is at liberty to use B-Spec to speed up the progression of time and complete event in a more feasible 8 hours. Due to the limitations of the PS2, although the event takes place over the course of 24 hours of real-time gameplay, neither the weather nor the time of day changes during the race.

Winning this event will award the player a Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03, the winner of the 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Trivia[]

  • Data files for Gran Turismo 5 indicate that the event was going to return, however the event was cut from the game prior to release. The event parameter file associated for the event contains incomplete data for 24 Hours of Nürburgring, but the event parameters for this event can be found on Fuji 1000 km's parameter files, also incomplete.[1]
