In-game description[]

Toyota's 'Crown' luxury saloon received a full model change in 2012 to become its 14th generation model.

The Crown had undergone mainly conservative changes in its long history, but the 12th generation model had its main components greatly updated. The 14th generation model also follows this path. The platform is carried over from the previous model, and while the steering design is slightly sporty as with the previous 2 generations, the front fascia was updated.

The lineup consisted of a classy 'Royal' version and a sporty 'Athlete' version. While the shape of the Royal model's front mask is reminiscent of its name, a crown, the Athlete has edges that look like lightning bolts, and the grille is wider and sharper looking. This greatly changed its image from the traditional mild mannered look of a Crown.

The engine is available in 4 types, with a 3.5L and a 2.5L V6, a 2.5L inline 4 hybrid, and a turbocharged 2L inline 4.

Dealership (GT7)[]

Sold only in Japan, the Toyota Crown as represented the quintessential Japanese luxury sports sedan. This particular model, which was introduced in 2012, was the 14-th generation version. With the first Crown appearing in 1955, it's one of the longest running models in Japan to date. The name "Athlete" was chosen to represent its distinctively sporty nature. It's a shame that the car has never been marketed worldwide.
