"A best-seller from the company that changed the EV market forever."
The Tesla Model 3, an EV sedan introduced in 2016, was one of Tesla's smaller models, measuring 184.8 inches long, 72.8 inches wide and 56.9 inches tall. Rumor has it that it was designed with considerations for Japanese mechanical parking garages.
Inside the sporty 5-door hatchback style body was a surprisingly simple cabin. You couldn't find any switches on the dashboard or on the center console because nearly every car function, from the climate control to the "autopilot" system, was operated through a 15-inch touch screen. What's more, many of these functions could also be managed on your smartphone.
The most powerful model in the lineup was the Performance Dual Motor AWD grade, which was available until 2023. This all-wheel-drive system placed an electric motor on each of the front and rear axles and, while the total system output was never officially published, the car was able to run to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 261 km/h. Based on these figures and its retail price tag, the Model 3 had very few rivals in cost-to-performance ratio.
The claimed battery range was 547 km as calculated by the WLPT cycle, an international test standard for energy consumption.
In September 2023, the Model 3 received its first major change since its debut. The car grew slightly, to 185.8 inches in overall length, and wore a sharper looking front fascia. Inside, the dashboard and controls looked more similar to other Tesla models.
Brand Central[]
The Model 3 is Tesla's entry model, and a compact sedan EV. Much like the Model S, it has a sporty design that is almost coupe-like in appearance. Powered by two motors at the front and rear, this is one car that does not underperform. Capable of going from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, this 4WD sedan can accelerate like a super sports car! The interior of the car is, naturally, as thoroughly Tesla as the exterior... With many of the car's controls laid out on a 15-inch touchscreen.
