In-game description[]

This description is taken from the NTSC version of Gran Turismo 2:

After producing such 1.6-liter legends as the TE27 and AE86, the Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno lines switched a front-engine, front-drive layout and grew larger. But a new generation in May 1995 produced the stylish and lean AE111, which dropped as much as 150 lbs in weight and revived the line's lightweight sports image. The BZ-G was the original top-of-the-line AE111 Levin/Trueno. The model 4A-GE engine replaced its AE101 predecessor's supercharger with a 5-valve-per-cylinder head with a variable valve timing (VVT) system. This 1.6-liter, twincam, in-line 4-cylinder 20-valve engine outperformed the AE101 to deliver 163 BHP and 120 lb-ft of torque. A highly refined fully-independent strut suspension and helical limited slip differential ensured that the BZ-G had a degree of handling control and stability rare for a front-engine / front-drive car. After a minor change, the BZ-G became the BZ-R. The BZ-R kept the same high levels of chassis and engine performance, and added an available 6-speed manual transmission to provide more precise control over the engine's capabilities. The AE111 BZ-G and BZ-R may be overshadowed by their luminary predecessors, but they can still be counted on to deliver excellent performance.
