In-game description[]

Car Index (GT7)[]

"The Supra returns after 17 years away. This racing version competed at the Nürburgring in 2019."

The GR Supra is Toyota's flagship sportscar which made a comeback in 2019 after being out of production for 17 years. Inheriting the traditional rear wheel drive and inline 6 cylinder engine, Toyota selected BMW as a development partner and evolved the car into a 21st century pure sportscar with 2 seats, an advanced chassis and twin scroll turbo.

The GR Supra showed itself for the first time at the Nürburgring 24 hour race in 2018, a year before its release. Under the slogan 'To make even better cars', it also entered the SP8T class in 2019 after its release.

With Masahiro Sasaki, Uwe Kleen, Herwig Daenens, and Morizo at the wheel, they started the final race from 99th place, and raised their position steadily, avoiding the numerous accidents that happened at the beginning of the race. 8 hours into the race, they were involved in a contact incident with a car from a higher class, but the car drove on to finish the race in a respectable 41st place overall, and 3rd in its class.

This is a car that has created the impression of the GR Supra, as a true competition sportscar.

Brand Central (GT7)[]

This GT4 race car was specially developed by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Aside from the safety systems required by the regulations, very little here is different from the factory model. Finishing a respectable third in its class, it is a testament to the basic performance capabilities of the GR Supra.

Jeremy[]

Ah, so this is the GR Supra that entered the Nürburgring 24 Hour race just a month after it went on sale... Did you know the driver for the first stint of the final was none other than Toyota President, Akio 'Morizo' Toyoda? Basically, the man who brought the GR Supra to life! The car was basically the retail model, with the bare minimum safety equipment needed to race. Still, it managed to claim 41st place overall, and was third in its class. It totally showed how good a performer the GR Supra really is.

Kagurazaka[]

Making its return after a 17-year hiatus this Supra is a true Toyota sports car. In moving from the Celica to the Supra, Toyota did not try to establish a design identity for itself. Rather, as if to deny their own past, they continued to strive for innovation. And while the Celica is worthy of respect, its presence is not felt here. Designed on a blank canvas, the Supra made no nods to the past when it made its dazzling debut. While borrowing a number of parts from the BMW Z4, the Supra employs a totally different design that sets it apart. That said, it has but one small flaw. A wider design could have been used to more effectively show off its body sides. Admittedly, it makes one's eyes wander towards the FT-1.

Trivia[]

GTS GR Supra N24 Racing Number

The car equipped with a custom racing number; note the hood racing number placed on the top left of the car's hood, carried over from the road car.

GTS GR Supra N24 Racing Number Default

The car equipped with the default racing number, with the number box now located on the center of the hood.

  • The interior is reused from the road-going GR Supra; this was acknowledged in its survey announcement in GT Sport, and remained unchanged in GT7.
  • In GT Sport, due to being only available through the survey, it cannot be used as Toyota's Gr.4 car for the FIA Gran Turismo Manufacturer Series.
    • However in GT7, it replaces the Toyota 86 Gr.4 as the loan car for that game's Manufacturers Cup.
  • When a Livery Editor racing number is used or the car is used in a Sport Mode or GT League (GT Sport only) event, the hood's racing number would move from center to top left-hand side of the hood (viewed from front).
    • The hood racing number position was carried from the car's road-going counterpart.
  • In GT Sport, if the player's save data is deleted once the car is obtained, a prompt to claim it will appear when the game is started, provided the new game is started before the end of the distribution date; however, the player is only allowed to have one copy in the garage, as with the Nissan GT-R Safety Car and the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo LH Edition.
  • In GT Sport, even if the player did not own it, it will appear as an opponent in Gr.4 Arcade Mode (both Single Race and Custom Race) races.
  • Despite being based on a Nürburgring 24 Hours participant, it does not have the Nürburgring 24 Hours tag in GT7.
