The Toyota Prius is a series of hybrid cars built by Toyota. Introduced in 1997, it was sold as a subcompact car in its first generation. Since the second generation, it has been sold as a compact car.
The Prius first appeared in Gran Turismo 2 with the Toyota PRIUS '97. It would return in Gran Turismo 4 Prologue and has been featured in all subsequent mainline games except Gran Turismo Sport.

- A Toyota Prius GT300 car was reported to have been scanned by Polyphony Digital according to the blog of apr (the team running the car), but the car have yet to make an appearance in the series.[1]
