The Toyota S-FR '15 is a concept car produced by Toyota. It appears in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7.
In-game description[]
The Toyota S-FR is Toyota's lightweight sports car, announced as a concept in the Tokyo Motor Show held in the fall of 2015. This is "a concept aiming to provide perfect control in an entry model, allowing the driver to enjoy interacting with the car in it's everyday use".
The body design contains the design essence from the famed Toyota Sports 800,[1] with a long nose and cute rounded body. Meanwhile it also adds contemporary touches, matching the design to modern tastes.
At the 2015 world premiere the engine and other information were not revealed, introducing only the body size and other measurements; a 2,480 mm wheel base, 3,990 mm length x 1,695 mm width, 1,320 mm height, and the fact that it would be a 4 passenger vehicle. The front to rear weight distribution would aim to achieve 50:50 with 2 passengers on board, and the transmission would be a 6 speed manual.
In the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon in January, Toyota also displayed a racing spec S-FR Racing Concept. Based on the cute and simple style of the S-FR, it was given a whole series of carbon fiber aerodynamic parts, including over fenders, front under spoilers, canards and a large rear wing. By exploring a design for maximizing on-track performance, they showed new possibilities for the S-FR.
Brand Central (GT7)[]
The S-FR was a concept vehicle unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. While this lightweight RWD sports car was designed for everyday use, it certainly turned heads at the show. With a compact body on par with the AE86, its weight is evenly distributed over the front and rear axles. The design was inspired by the famous Toyota Sports 800.
