The Triumph Speed Triple debuted with unique styling that broke with the traditional concept of a naked bike and included an extremely short seat cowl and unfaired dual headlights.
Though the dimensions were still similar to the previous models, revisions in 2005 increased the stroke and boosted the overall displacement from 955 to 1050cc. Each part of the frame was downsized to heighten the perfection of this performance bike.
Although the Speed Triple is known as a "Street Fighter", it's also acknowledged for its strong performance in one-make circuit races held in Europe, and this particular bike was modelled largely after those spec-series racing bikes.
The bore and stroke are standard, but a camshaft optimised for high-revolution power and racing-type engine management system have been adopted, and the fuel injection system was reprogrammed for the higher efficiency of the racing exhaust.
Triumph replaced the inner parts of the fork and installed a wide-setting, high-performance rear suspension to give the Speed Triple the footwork of a supersport machine.
