Trivia[]

  • A Japanese TV commercial for the first Gran Turismo was shot at Twin Ring Motegi. In the commercial, a house sits on the backstretch (the East Course home straight), and several production race cars (including what appears to be a replica of the Subaru Impreza rally car) approach the house resulting in hard braking by the drivers and the house owner sweeping crouching in a panic, but the cars somehow manage to enter the house, with the gate door closing once all of them does so.
  • Some developmental work for the first four games, such as vehicle scanning and/or engine sound recording, were also performed at the track, according to behind the scenes videos from the likes of GameSpot and PlayStation Underground.
  • The Gran Turismo Cafe is also located at the track's complex.
