In-game Description[]

This description is taken from the PAL version of Gran Turismo 2:

The tiny Vauxhall Corsa took over where the boxy Nova left off in 1993, offering three and five-door versions and a range of engines from just one-litre in capacity up to 1.6. But enthusiastic drivers had to wait until 1998's revised version to arrive with Lotus-tuned suspension to really enjoy the Corsa's handling. The flagship Corsa Sport sits lower than the rest of the range, although the layout of its independent MacPherson strut front suspension and compound crank rear is no different to the others. But it is stiffer and coupled with 14-inch alloy wheels wearing 185/60R14 tyres endows the Corsa Sport with better grip and handling than its more humdrum siblings. Power steering, with just 2.8 turns lock-to-lock is standard, as is a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox to drive the front wheels. The options come in the engine bay for the Corsa Sport is offered with either 1.4-litre-16-valve or 1.6-litre 16-valve ECOTEC engines. Choose the 1.4 and you'll be endowed with 90bhp at 6,000rpm. That's good enough to see the cute Corsa to 60mph from rest in 10.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 112mph. Add an extra 200cc to the engine and power increases to 106bhp and with it the performance also improves. The 1.6-litre Corsa Sport will screech to 60mph in 9.5 seconds and runs out of puff at 119mph. The 1.6-litre Sport also benefits from bigger front disc brakes (up 20mm to 256mm) with ABS anti-lock on the options list. The rear brakes are 200mm drums across the range. Badged as a Vauxhall in the UK but as an Opel in the rest of Europe the Corsa has appeared on the best-sellers list ever since its launch.
