Strategy[]

The Vision Gran Turismo Trophy is a deceptively difficult series, one that can surprise the player if they are not prepared for it. In many ways, this could be considered a harder version of the Hypercar Parade, but with a limit on Performance Points and the ability to use race cars. Regardless, the player should be ready for a challenge.

Key opponents to watch out for are the Porsches, Skoda, and the Genesis; due to their increase in acceleration and top speed respectively allowing them to set lap times significantly faster than everything else. This point is most apparent on many of the long straights like the ones at Monza, Tokyo Expressway, and Deep Forest Raceway Reverse and can be tough to hold them back in a car that doesn’t have a reliable Top Speed.

The best ways to combat these cars is to either use them yourself or opt for other high Performance Point rating race machines such as the Audi e-tron or a slightly detuned McLaren VGT Gr.1 or Bugatti VGT. Other cars such as the Tomahawk S VGT, the Non-Gr.1 version of the Mazda VGT, and the Ferrari VGT can make up for lost time too; albeit, detuning them way down is necessary due to their excessive PP Rating. Fast electric cars like the Chaparral VGT, and the Non-Gr.1 version of the Hyundai VGT can do the work as well; albeit they don’t have as much downforce as the other cars and higher PP to begin with. It’s also vital to have Racing Hard tires bare minimum regardless of what tires the car starts off with.

Trivia[]

  • Although there are no tire restrictions for this event, most opponents in this series use the Racing: Hard compound, regardless of what the stock tires are for that respective car. Furthermore; in the races added post-launch, the Jaguar and the Genesis cars will use Sports Tires resulting an advantage for the player when it comes to cornering.
