Description[]
- "The spirit of the GTI continues with this model, the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo! This sporty, roofless two-seater is a real beauty! You'll notice that its body makes use of various design motifs from previous GTI generations. Perhaps the most striking aspect of its design, though, is the incredibly low-cut windscreen! Appearances aside, it comes with a high-powered 502 BHP 3L V6 twin-turbo engine. That and its 4WD drivetrain give it massive power on the track!"
- ―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central
Based on successful GTI DNA, Volkswagen Design has developed a highly distinctive supercar: the “GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo”.
The design owes much to the successful history of the GTI: style-defining design elements from the various GTI generations illustrate the extraordinary evolution of this vehicle. Boasting a visionary design, the Roadster promises an immediate driving experience – the extreme acceleration can be experienced directly through the low-cut windscreen.
Powered by a 3.0 twin-turbo VR6 TSI engine, the "GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo" delivers 503 BHP(503 BHP)with an enormous torque of 665 Nm(490 lb/ft). The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with sports programming ensures phenomenal acceleration and fast gearshifts on the race track.
An aerodynamically optimized front and rear spoiler, together with an integrated diffuser element at the rear, achieve the required downforce for excellent roadholding. Fitted with 20-inch wheels in size 235/35 (front) and 275/30 (rear), the massive torque can be transferred reliably to the track via 4 driven wheels. The supercar features ventilated ceramic brakes, 14 inches in diameter at the front and 14 inches at the rear.
The "GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo" is presented in a bright, intense metallic red, a modern interpretation of the classic GTI Red.
The result is a fascinating and exceptionally dynamic extreme sports car with a sophisticated design for the race track in which players can gain a unique impression of what it’s like to drive in the GTI world.

Trivia[]
- This car is the first Vision Gran Turismo car with a full interior visible to the player.
- The car is also the first Vision Gran Turismo car to have a fully working mockup model in real life; the actual car was shown at the Wörthersee Treffen event on May 30, 2014, coinciding with the launch of the car, although it only ran at low speeds. It, along with the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo and the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo (all of which being Vision Gran Turismo cars under the Volkswagen Group), are among three cars from the project to exist in the real world and can function at the same time.
- The real show car is currently owned by JP Performance (who built a replica version of the Volkswagen Beetle Gr.3), at their PACE Automobil Museum.
