In-game description[]

"This fifth generation Polo GTI is a petite hot hatch that's a size smaller than the Golf... Which stands to reason, as the original Polo debuted in 1975 as the Golf's 'little brother'. This generation Polo GTI came with two different engines depending on whether it is an early model or late model, but[1] this is the late model that debuted in 2014, which came with a turbocharged 1.8L inline-4 cylinder engine. It's capable of producing 189.3 BHP and 25.5 kgfm of torque from just 1,250 rpm! Small but speedy, this model also features an upgraded chassis and improved handling."
―In-game description of the car, from GT7's Brand Central

The Polo is one of the main pillars in the Volkswagen line up, a car in a class one size smaller than the Golf. But this car maintains all the high quality virtues as displayed in the higher class Golf, and is a model that is positioned as the world's benchmark for B segment compact cars.

The Polo was reborn into its 5th generation model at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The styling is similar to the 6th generation Golf of the same period, but with its clean, bold lines, it exhibited a strong image that put it above other cars in its class. Thorough considerations were made for environmental performance as well, downsizing the engine and utilizing an efficient 7 speed DSG.

The high performance GTI model debuted in 2010 featuring a 1.4L direct injection turbo + supercharger engine setup which, despite being 400 cc smaller in displacement than the previous model, produced 28.5 BHP/3.1 kgfm more at 176.5 BHP/25.5 kgfm. The 7 speed DSG transmission allows for a top speed of 139.8 mph, with a 0-62.1 mph acceleration of 6.9 seconds. The chassis was also upgraded, featuring sports suspension and electronic devices that perform the same function as a limited-slip differential. This model is also notable for its fantastic handling response.

In 2014, the GTI model received a facelift. One of the most notable changes is the new engine. Now featuring a 400 cc larger 1.8L inline-4 turbo engine the maximum power output has increased to 189.3 BHP. Extra power isn't the only difference, as the fuel economy has also been greatly improved, consuming much less fuel than the 1.4L GTI.
