World Circuits

World Circuits menu.

The World Circuits is where players are able to participate in events in different continents within Gran Turismo 7. The World Circuits is located in the World Map menu. Each continent includes a number of locations where players can race in. The player must play through the GT Café to unlock more tracks, events, and championships.

Besides career events and championships, the game's Arcade Modes (Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race) are also integrated with this mode, alongside Circuit Experience. The Paddock (formerly Meeting Places) can also be started from here.

Additional tracks and events are added in updates as the game's life progresses.

Arcade Modes[]

With World Circuits integrating the game's Arcade Modes, the following features are available, such as:

  • Quick Race (formerly Arcade Race): Allows players to engage in an instant, quick race against the AI. There are three difficulty options, Beginner, Intermediate and Professional, each providing a set of prize credits at the end of the race, and determining the number of opponents the player will face. As of version 1.40, this has been renamed to Quick Race, featuring GT Sophy 2.0 integration on the PlayStation 5 version and on select number of cars and tracks, with prize credits increased up to 400% based on the player's Car Collector Level and Circuit Experience progress (up to 200% each while at maximum completion).
  • Time Trial: This mode allows players to race against the clock with no opponents, and is ideal for practice runs to get familiar with the track.
  • Drift Trial: In Drift Trials, players will be able to show off their drifting skills around the track, where finesse and control are key. A rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive car with rear bias are recommended. Drift Trial is not available at Blue Moon Bay Speedway (including the road course layouts, unlike in GT Sport), Northern Isle Speedway, Broad Bean Raceway, and Special Stage Route X, but is available at Daytona International Speedway despite it being an oval track.
  • Custom Race: Custom Races give players the freedom of creating their own personalized races, from altering the number of laps, opponents, rules set, and even as far as assigning cars (if set to garage only) to the AI, renaming opponents and assigning their nationalities.

Unlike previous titles in the series, under normal circumstances, the Arcade Modes do not offer any rental cars, and players are forced to choose whatever they have from their Garage.

While any car can be used to race against other opponents (especially in Custom Races), electric vehicles are restricted to one-make races in the Arcade and Custom Race modes.

When played offline though, the World Circuits mode will be the only available mode, albeit with a slimmed down form of the Arcade Modes (where players can choose between single races - with the ability to choose the number of laps, and time trials), featuring all tracks the player has unlocked so far, and with 13 rental cars such as the:

It should be noted that these exact cars are used in split-screen mode. Additional cars can be used by adding cars to the favorites list, but only when online.

Events[]

Unlike most games in the series, events are organized on per-track basis, rather than per-event basis. This was changed in the 1.40 update, where races can be chosen on per-event basis through the Event Directory.

Many of the post-launch events are only available after the Menu Book 39 is completed and the ending credits have been watched. Some events also require the respective Bonus Books be started.

Currently, there are a total of 218 events in the game.

Permanent events[]

Limited-time events[]

  • Special Event (Update v1.40; only available if one is part of the current Weekly Challenge)

Weekly Challenges[]

Introduced in version 1.40, Weekly Challenges serve as counterpart to Seasonal Events in the PlayStation 3-era games in the series. Each week, there are five races, mostly picked from existing races, plus one exclusive race only available for the duration of the weekly challenge (on occasional basis), with prizes (credit and roulette tickets) for completing all of them. Weekly Challenges are available after Menu Book 39 has been completed by viewing the ending credits.

Version 1.42 redesigned the Weekly Challenges menu to remind players about events related to Bonus Books that has not yet been started, instead of displaying a pop-up message that the event is not yet available when trying to access said events.
